Emailing Databases

Databases are very interesting animals.  While they can make life much easier when it comes to finding a specific range of information one is seeking, they are also the most prevalent places for hackers to hit.  When a hacker launches a virus they've created, there's a good chance it will be stored on an online database somewhere until some unsuspecting person taps into that certain location.  Once opened, it infects the computer accessing the database, and the sharing begins.

To that end, many email systems not only block access to databases, but remove them.  I'm sure you've received some emails that contain a warning message such as "Access to unsecured items have been blocked.  To unblock them, click here."  Once you do, the graphics of the Web page appear in your browser.  Database removal takes blocking access one step further.

So if you're planning on emailing someone a database of information you've created (such as an address list for a wedding or shower), you'll want to make sure the recipient's email system won't remove it.
