One Picture...
...can choke an inbox. If you have a habit of sending friends and relatives pictures as attachments to emails, check to see their file size first. Right click the file name and select "properties." If it's larger than 1MB, there's a good chance it will clog someone's email inbox. Larger picture files (such as .jpg and .tif files) can make your Web sites load slower.
Before you attach, consider double-clicking the file to open it, or right-click and select "open with" a program like Microsoft Photo Editor. It will allow you to compress the file to a smaller size so that it can be emailed without detrimental effects.
Or, you can choose "save as" from the main "File" menu, and save it as a .gif file for use in a Web site, allowing your site to load faster.
